Phoebe Pundyk

She was raised by an artist, a writer and the City of New York. Phoebe Pundyk’s photo-collages explore trends of the American family throughout the 20th and 21st Century. Using imagery sourced from her own experience together with photographs, letters and other printed matter from prior generations, including those of her great-grandmother, Pundyk’s collages explore the unique characteristics of each generation. 

She examines experiences related to communication, correspondence and the physical home living arrangements. These works transform personal history into public provocation. It is informed by the legacies of her great-grandmother and mother yet brings her own forward-looking perspective.
